i am from a small town called young. here we have a flag that some brave and hard working people put up in the forest to show respect for our town. the forest service wants to take this flag down because a special use permit is needed. they say we dont have one. its hard for me to understand how in America a flag put up by Americans for Americans can be in question. people may ask whats the big deal? well for us this flags location has come to represent so much more then you can imagine. see for us this flags location is respect. it shows that here the American dream is still alive. it show us that we have allies in our nieghbors and friends. for us where this flag flies gives us a since of pride in our community every time time we pass by it. for us this location is hope. yes we do fly our flag proudly in many locations but this spot is kind of like flying the flag at the town hall building. see we dont have a town hall here. we dont like politicians that offer no real leadership. the flag of our country was put in this spot for us by leaders and not politicians. apparently the forest service doesnt understand this. but id like to address the stupid idea that we dont have a permit. it was not written on cheap paper with printer ink that fades in time or exspires. it was written in the souls of brave men and women that gave their lives for the right for this flag to be flown anywhere in the world but certainly on American soil. it was written by the blood our friends gave when they fought in wars for us. it was written in the tears of us who have spent countless hours worrying about our family members that bravely stood up and offered every thing they had for the right for us to fly this flag. it was written in the sweet of the people of this comunity that work soooo hard to show that here the American dream is alive and well. so yes we have a permit and it does not expire. see for us it means something. so you can take it down and we will put it back up.
